Recalled Product:

This recall involves Swaddle Bee’s Loviebee security blankets for infants. The blankets were sold in blue/gray, blue/white, pink/gray and pink/white color combinations with optional personalized embroidery. They have a polyester minky fabric on one side and velour on the other side and measure about 16 inches by 16 inches. The blankets have two straps with a metal snap
at the end of each strap and the body of the blanket to attach the blanket to a stroller, crib or car seat or wrist. The Swaddle Bee logo is on a sewn-on tag attached to the corner of the blanket.


Swaddle Bee has received two reports of the blankets metal snaps
detaching. No injuries have been reported.

Swaddle Bee takes pride in bringing your family well-loved and treasured baby and children’s products.  In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Swaddle Bee is conducting a voluntary recall on our Loviebee Security Blankets sold on and through our social media platforms between September 2018 and May 2019.  Our records indicate that you may have purchased one of these items. 

Swaddle Bee is conducting this voluntary recall after receiving two reports from customers indicating that the metal snaps on the product can become detached and could present a choking hazard to young children.  We at Swaddle Bee are truly disappointed that this product did not meet our high-quality standards and we are committed to making it right. Swaddle Bee encourages you to please contact our team to arrange for a full refund of the product.  

To obtain your full refund, you may either:

  • Remove all the metal snaps from the Loviebee and keep your Loviebee product*;
  • Destroy the Loviebee with scissors and throw away in your household trash; or
  • Contact Swaddlebee for a free return shipping label. 

* The removed snaps must be discarded.  See instructions on removing snaps below.

If you choose to simply remove the snaps or destroy the product, we ask that you please simply take a photograph on your phone and email the photo(s) to us (along with your refund shipping details) to  This is the quickest way for us to provide you with your refund.

With a seam ripper or small pair of scissors, loosen or snip thread over the metal snap.

Detach thread over the metal snap. Once thread is loosened, it can be pulled out to remove snap.

No. Swaddle Bee has not received any reports of injury.

Swaddle Bee is refunding all customers who have purchased Loviebee Security Blankets.

Q3. How long will customers have to wait to be refunded?
Once a customer has contacted Swaddle Bee and Swaddle Bee has received a photo of the unit with the snaps removed or as destroyed with scissors,Swaddle Bee will immediately process your refund. Alternatively, Swaddle Bee will provide you with a postage paid return envelope if you wish to return the product.

Q4. Why did Swaddle Bee issue a recall?
Swaddle Bee received two reports of the snaps coming off and was concerned that a child could be harmed. Swaddle Bee decided to conduct a voluntary recall and provide a refund for all units. Swaddle Bee worked cooperatively to announce this voluntary recall in coordination with the federal government, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

Q6. What exactly is the cause of this problem?
Swaddle Bee’s investigation and analysis determined that someone in the factory did not properly attach the snaps. Swaddle Bee has not received any reports of an injury.

Q7. How long have you known about these problems?
The problem was discovered several weeks ago. After completing the appropriate investigation, we voluntarily contacted the CPSC and have cooperated fully with their guidelines and recommendations.

Q8. If you’ve known about these problems for a few weeks, why didn't you recall these products before now?
Swaddle Bee needed time to investigate the root cause, identify the affected units, and voluntarily raise the issue with the CPSC. Once the CPSC becomes involved, we are obligated to follow their guidelines and recommendations. We have been working with the CPSC over the past few weeks to ensure all necessary documentation and actions were in place.

Q9: Is it dangerous to continue to use this product while waiting for the replacement??
